Welcome, my name is Samantha and I offer professional counselling to you at those times of difficulty. As your therapist I will help you explore different aspects of your life and feelings helping you to feel empowered. You will have a confidential space to talk openly and freely. Talking in such a way is rarely possible in day to day life as it can feel hard to share deep emotions with those around you.
Counselling sessions will give you the opportunity to express difficult feelings such as anger, resentment, guilt and fear in a non judgemental and safe space. Along with this exploration we will also celebrate your successes and achievements. My aim is to support you in developing your own insights, solutions and awareness to make effective decisions leading to positive changes that are important to you.
My private practice based in Deeping St Nicholas is within easy access of The Deepings, Stamford, Bourne, Spalding, Peterborough and the surrounding areas with ample free, off road parking available.

Benefits of Counselling
Counselling can help you gain new ways of thinking about your problems by letting them out. It can also feel like a relief to release pent up feeling and emotions. Such a release can often feel like a weight has been lifted and allows you to let go of feelings you may have been holding on to.
In todays busy life our attention can be pulled in many different directions leaving very little time to process feelings such as guilt, remorse or grief. Counselling gives you a dedicated time and place without distractions that is purely for you.
It is not uncommon for people to struggle to share their feelings and issues with the people in their life, even those closest to them. Being able to talk to someone who is unknown to you who won’t judge can give you a freedom to talk about things you may find hard to speak about in day to day life. This can help with feelings of loneliness or isolation, especially if there’s been something you have found hard to discuss with others.
Unloading your emotions through counselling helps you to get on with the other areas in your life, making coping feel easier. Emotions that are bottled up can have a lasting effect on mood and behaviour. Knowing you can rely on someone to talk to about anything gives you more space to focus on living life and making positive changes which leads to a lift in mood and a healthier life.
Counselling can also help you to have a greater self awareness, exploring your emotions can allow you to see yourself in a different way which in turn tends to be
extremely beneficial for confidence.
People who have completed the counselling process have often said that it has helped them to feel calmer, less stressed, less anxious, have improved communication, understand their own needs better and make positive changes in their lives.

I work with a wide variety of issues which is the reason I have an integrative approach. This means I work with you as an individual using a range of approaches tailored to your needs. We will explore your strengths with the belief that deep down you know yourself best, even if sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. This helps to empower you with making your own choices.
As a professional counsellor I can help you explore your thoughts and feelings. I will support you with an empathic approach and a safe space to help you understand patterns you may have developed in your behaviour and make links between past and present enabling change to happen.
I have worked with a variety of different issues across many age groups and have a special interest in dyslexia. Having lived with dyslexia myself I have a deep understanding of this and the issues that can come with it. I have a good knowledge of the frustrations associated with dyslexia, the anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. I have faced and worked through many issues associated with this and felt the effects of living in a world that has at times felt disconnected from me. Working together I can help support you with issues around dyslexia as well as many other issues and with developing coping tools.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and I abide by their ethical framework for good practice. I have regular clinical supervision to review my work.
